New Joins Cessna Pilots Association
Cessna
Pilots Association Executive Director John Frank has
named Paul New as Contributing Technical
Representative. New owns and operates Tennessee
Aircraft Services in Jackson, Tennessee. His company
specializes in major structural repair of Cessna singles
and twins or as New describes it repairs “from hangar
rash to belly landings.”
As Contributing Technical Representative,
New will participate in CPA’s Web site forums, answer
members’ questions, write for the association’s magazine
and teach in the association’s extensive seminar
program.
New soloed the day after his
sixteenth birthday, completed his private pilot’s
certificate when he was seventeen, and added his
multi-engine rating that same year. He earned an
Associates Degree in Applied Science – Avionics
Technology from Southern Illinois University.
He is an A&P, an IA as well.
With his experience in
major aircraft repairs, flight, and aircraft recovery,
New has been retained on many occasions as a consultant
to insurance companies and attorneys for aircraft
accident re-creations and investigations. Last year, he
was named he Maintenance
Technician of the Year for the FAA Safety Team Area 6 (Memphis,
TN FSDO, Jackson, MS FSDO and Birmingham, AL FSDO).
“Paul is an ideal addition to our technical
staff,” said Frank. “He brings decades of practical
experience to our members.”
Two CPA seminars will be held at New’s
Tennessee Aircraft Services in August 2007. A Systems
and Procedures Seminar for the Cessna 182R and earlier
as well as the Systems and Procedures Seminar for the
Cessna 337 Skymaster will take place in Jackson.
