Cessna Pilots Association Urges: Cessnas, Go Home!
Dozens of Cessna aircraft
belonging to Cessna Pilots Association (CPA) members will
gather in Wichita this June 6-9, 2007, to celebrate Cessna’s
80th anniversary. The Cessna Pilots Association
has organized this fly-in to coincide with the official
anniversary celebration planned by Cessna Aircraft.
Through special invitation of Cessna CEO Jack
Pelton, Cessna Pilots Association members are included in
the Cessna facilities open house on Saturday, June 9, 2007.
The CPA is coordinating a static display of aircraft at the
Cessna factory. “We will try to have at least one model of
each piston-powered Cessna on display,” said CPA Executive
Director John Frank.
The Cessna Pilots Association Fly In begins with
a welcome reception at the Wichita Airport Hilton on the
evening of June 6. Thursday morning’s activities include the
choice of a tour of Independence, Kansas, and the Cessna
facility there or a tour of FlightSafety International and
some simulator time, followed by an afternoon tour and
demonstration at Yingling Aircraft.
Friday, June 8 is dedicated to seminars. Among
those sessions currently scheduled are a seminar on aging
aircraft presented by Marv Nuss from the FAA, a Cessna
Aircraft seminar on how the parts system works and a Q&A
session with Cessna technical reps.
Saturday is devoted to the Cessna Aircraft open
house and celebration followed by a CPA closing banquet at
the Wichita Airport Hilton with a guest speaker and door
prizes. Registration forms for the entire event can be
downloaded at
www.cessna.org. In order to comply with airport and
Cessna Aircraft security procedures, all registrations must
be completed by May 25, 2007. For more information on the
fly-in, go to
www.cessna.org or telephone 805-934-0493.
